On Saturday evening March 25, Nashville-based singer/songwriter Travis Meadows will perform live as part of a joint benefit for the William S. Davies Homeless Shelter and the Historic DeSoto Theatre Foundation. With Harbin Clinic as the presenting sponsor, the event promises to be an authentic encounter with homegrown music and a real-life example of recovery and redemption.
Early in his life, Travis Meadows had an intense battle with cancer, and his indomitable spirit resonates with the heart of Harbin Clinic.
“We are dedicated to the wellness of our patients,” says Harbin Clinic Cancer Center Director Dr. Missy Dillmon. “In caring for the health of our patients, we believe Travis Meadows represents an encouraging story of hope and resolve to remain healthy on every level.”
The Rome News Tribune and other local businesses have also stepped up to support the event.
A Unique Collaboration
The Travis Meadows Concert and Fundraiser Event represents the results of a collaborative partnership between the Historic DeSoto Theatre Foundation and the William Davies Homeless Shelter. The two organizations have committed their best efforts to celebrate the work of our community organizations and individuals helping those in need.
“We are excited to partner with the William Davies Homeless Shelter in bringing Travis’s inspirational message to Rome,” says Foundation President Chris Jackson, “Travis Meadows is a survivor, or ‘a riser,’ as he puts it himself in one of his most successful songs recorded by Dierks Bentley.”
With the Foundation agreeing to host the event and the Shelter working on various publicity elements, they are combining energies to enable for more effective fundraising.
“We look forward to raising money for the operation of our newly constructed homeless shelter,” says the shelter’s namesake, William Davies. “Travis Meadows’ message of hope and restoration connects deeply with the heart of our shelter, and we look forward to raising awareness and local support for the shelter.”
