APRIL IS AUTISM AWARENESS Month. Join us for our 2nd Annual Autism Awareness Walk. We will assemble at the fountains in front of the Forum at 10:30am. The walk will begin at 11:00am and will procede down Broad Street for a block. Bring your autism signs, balloons, kids, friends and family to rally awareness and support for autism in our community. Immediately following the walk, we will meet at St Peter's Episcopal Church's side entrance on East First Street. Refreshments will be served at the church's fellowship hall. Compassionate Paws will also be there with several of their service dogs. Autism rates are now 1 in 36 kids, as of 2016.Rome-Floyd County has an estimated 250 autistic kids and young adults currently enrolled in the two school systems. The number of kids under 3 and over 22 is not currently documented.
